Aliment de fraction de tourteaux d’extraction de tournesol pauvre en cellulose et riche en protéines

Feed material Oil seeds and fruits Authorised in animal feed (EU)

Description

What it is. Product obtained by grinding and fractionation (sieving and turbo-separation) of extraction meal from dehulled sunflower seeds. This fractionation separates a fraction low in fibre and high in protein. On an integrated crushing and refining site, the product may contain up to 1% of spent bleaching earth and filtration aids (diatomaceous earth, silicates, cellulosic or ligneous fibres).

What it is for. This fraction is generally used as a concentrated protein source to partially replace standard sunflower meal or other oilcake meals, particularly when fibre content must be limited. It suits formulations for monogastrics requiring energy and digestible protein, where standard sunflower meal would be too fibrous. Its use fits a valorisation logic for crushing by-products with an improved nutritional profile.

Points to watch. Minimum crude protein content is 45% and maximum crude fibre content is 8%, both referenced to a moisture content (9.5% and 10% respectively). The possible presence of spent bleaching earth and filtration aids (up to 1% combined) should be considered in quality control. Composition may vary depending on the fractionation process and the origin of the meal.
