Description
What it is. Trans-2-nonenal is a flavouring substance obtained by chemical synthesis, belonging to functional group 2b of sensory additives. It is characterised by a purity ≥ 92 %, chemical formula C9H16O (CAS 18829-56-6).
What it is for. This additive is intended to be incorporated into feed for all animal species, in the form of a premixture, to impart or reinforce a flavour note. Its use falls under group 2b flavouring substances, generally subject to limited and regulated application through a recommended maximum content of active substance. The additive label must state this recommended maximum content per kilogram of complete feed at 12 % moisture.
Points to watch. The instructions for use must indicate storage conditions and stability to heat treatment.
