Description
What it is. Aromatic substance obtained by chemical synthesis, with a purity ≥ 91 %, identified by its FLAVIS number 05.196 and CAS number 30361-29-6. It belongs to functional group 2b of sensory additives (flavouring compounds).
What it is for. This additive is generally used to provide a flavouring note to compound feed, to be incorporated as a premixture. It is authorised for all animal species, with no restriction on category or physiological stage mentioned in the regulatory annex.
Points to watch. The recommended maximum content of active substance is 5 mg per kilogram of complete feed at 12 % moisture; exceeding this threshold requires specific labelling of the premixture. The instructions for use must specify storage conditions and thermal processing stability, and personal protective measures (skin, eyes, respiratory tract) are required against exposure risks during handling.
