Description
What it is. Flavouring substance obtained by chemical synthesis, known as raspberry ketone (FLAVIS number 07.055, CAS 5471-51-2), minimum purity 96 %, chemical formula C10H12O2.
What it is for. This functional group 2b additive (flavouring compounds) is generally used for its flavouring effect in feed for all animal species, incorporated in the form of a premixture. The label must indicate storage conditions and stability to heat treatment, the instructions for use being set by the premixture manufacturer.
Points to watch. The recommended maximum content of active substance is 25 mg/kg complete feed (12 % moisture) for land-based aquaculture animals and for other species or categories, and 0.05 mg/kg for sea-based aquaculture animals. If the dose used leads to exceeding these thresholds, the premixture label must state the functional group, identification number, name and quantity of active substance added. The EU authorisation runs until 2 April 2033.
