Description
What it is. Isopulegol is an aromatic substance obtained by chemical synthesis, with chemical formula C10H18O (CAS 89-79-2, FLAVIS number 02.067), with a minimum purity of 95 %.
What it is for. It belongs to functional group 2b of sensory additives and is used as a flavouring in feed for all animal species. It is incorporated into feed in the form of a premixture. The label must indicate storage conditions and stability under heat treatment.
Points to watch. The recommended maximum content of active substance is 5 mg/kg of complete feed (12 % moisture) for all species, except cats, limited to 1 mg/kg. If the premixture dose risks exceeding this threshold, the label must state the functional group, identification number and the quantity added. Protective measures against inhalation and skin or eye contact are required during handling.
