Description
What it is. Aromatic substance obtained by chemical synthesis, with formula C11H10O (CAS 93-04-9), minimum purity 99 %. It belongs to functional group 2b of sensory additives (FLAVIS number 04.074).
What it is for. This additive is intended for flavouring feed for all animal species and is incorporated as a premixture. It would generally be used to impart or enhance a particular odour note in complete feed. The additive label must state a recommended maximum content of active substance of 1.2 mg per kg of complete feed at 12 % moisture.
Points to watch. The instructions for use must indicate storage conditions and stability to heat treatment. If the premixture dose leads to exceeding the recommended content, the label must state the functional group, identification number and quantity of active substance added. Personal protective measures (skin, eyes, respiratory tract) are required where inhalation or contact risks cannot otherwise be controlled.
