Description
What it is. Enzyme preparation containing cellulase EC 3.2.1.4, produced by fermentation of Trichoderma longibrachiatum ATCC 74252. It hydrolyses cellulose and related plant cell wall polysaccharides.
What it is for. Used as a silage additive to facilitate fibre breakdown and fermentation of forage material. It is generally applied at the ensiling stage to support the production process rather than as a direct feed nutrient. The authorisation covers all animal species, reflecting its role on the silage substrate rather than a species-specific nutritional effect.
Points to watch. Authorisation is restricted to the silage additive functional group (1k) and valid until 2028-01-08; use outside this functional group or species scope is not covered. As an enzyme product, activity can vary with storage conditions and silage matrix; handling and storage conditions should follow the product data sheet.
