Description
What it is. Clinoptilolite of volcanic origin is a natural zeolite mineral, extracted from volcanic rock deposits and processed (crushing, grinding, particle sizing) for feed use. It is characterised by a porous aluminosilicate crystalline structure with ion-exchange and adsorption properties.
What it is for. It is used as a technological additive in feed, generally as a binder or anti-caking agent helping to maintain feed structure and flow. It is registered for pigs and poultry. It would generally be used in compound feed or premixes where physical stability of the mix is sought.
Points to watch. Authorisation under number E 567 is limited to pigs and poultry and runs until 2025-07-06; use outside this scope or beyond this date is not covered. As a mineral additive, batch purity and particle size should be checked, and storage should protect the product from moisture to preserve its technological properties.
