Description
What it is. Coccidiostat additive (decoquinate, EU No 51756ii) dosed at 60 g/kg, combined with colloidal silica, silicon dioxide, sodium carboxymethylcellulose and calcium sulphate dihydrate as carrier. The active substance is a synthetic quinoline (C24H35NO5, CAS 18507-89-6).
What it is for. Used in feed for chickens for fattening for the prevention of coccidiosis, at the regulatory levels of 30 to 40 mg/kg complete feed. The additive is incorporated into compound feed as a premix, never added directly.
Points to watch. Do not mix the additive with other coccidiostats. The instructions for use must specify storage conditions and stability to heat treatment. The authorisation holder must carry out a post-market monitoring programme for bacterial and Eimeria spp. resistance; personal protective equipment may be required depending on the risk assessment. Authorisation valid until 20/12/2031.
