Endo– 1,4- beta- mannanase (EC 3.2.1.78)

Additive Zootechnical additives Authorised in animal feed (EU)

Description

What it is. Enzyme preparation of endo–1,4-beta-mannanase (EC 3.2.1.78) produced by fermentation of Aspergillus niger CBS 120604, supplied in solid form with a minimum activity of 265 U/g.

What it is for. Used as a zootechnical additive, digestibility enhancer, in feed for all poultry species for fattening. The enzyme hydrolyses beta-mannan chains present in some raw materials, which can help reduce their antinutritional effect and support nutrient utilisation. It is incorporated into compound feed or premixtures at the production stage, with a minimum recommended level of 30 U per kg of complete feed.

Points to watch. Authorised until 10 January 2034 for poultry species for fattening; use instructions must state storage conditions and stability to heat treatment. Operators must implement procedures to manage inhalation, eye and skin exposure risks, including personal protective equipment where needed.
