Description
What it is. Isobutyl salicylate is a flavouring substance obtained by chemical synthesis, with a minimum purity of 98 %, identified by CAS number 87-19-4 and FLAVIS number 09.750.
What it is for. This sensory additive from functional group 2b is generally used as a flavouring in feed for all animal species. It is incorporated in the form of a premixture. The recommended maximum content of active substance is 5 mg per kg of complete feed at 12 % moisture.
Points to watch. If the dose proposed on the premixture label leads to exceeding this recommended content, the functional group, identification number and quantity of active substance must be stated. Storage conditions and stability to heat treatment must be indicated in the instructions for use. Personal protective equipment (respiratory, eye, skin) may be required during handling if risks cannot otherwise be controlled.
