Description
What it is. Coccidiostat additive combining two active substances, narasin (polyether ionophore) and nicarbazin (carbanilide derivative), each at a fixed dosage of 80 g/kg in the Maxiban G160 premix. It is a chemically synthesised product intended for incorporation into complete feed.
What it is for. This additive is used for the prevention of coccidiosis in chickens for fattening. It is generally incorporated into complete feed formulation according to an anticoccidial programme defined by the manufacturer. Its use is restricted to poultry, specifically broiler chickens, as part of a control plan against Eimeria protozoa.
Points to watch. The EU authorisation specifically targets chickens for fattening; any use outside this target species is not covered. Nicarbazin presents known risks of interaction under high temperatures and variable sensitivity depending on coccidia strains; withdrawal rules before slaughter and possible incompatibilities with other coccidiostats must be respected per the product's instructions.
