Description
What it is. Enzymatic preparation combining three activities: endo-1,4-beta-xylanase produced by Trichoderma reesei, subtilisin produced by Bacillus subtilis, and alpha-amylase produced by Bacillus amyloliquefaciens. The additive is presented in solid form, with guaranteed minimum activities for each of the three enzymes.
What it is for. This zootechnical additive belongs to the digestibility enhancer functional group. It is intended for poultry: chickens and turkeys for fattening, ducks, laying hens, and more broadly all poultry species for fattening, breeding or laying. It is generally used to promote breakdown of fibre (arabinoxylans), protein and starch in the diet, in order to improve digestive utilisation of feed.
Points to watch. Minimum activity doses differ by species and stage (for example 75 U xylanase / 1,000 U subtilisin / 100 U alpha-amylase for ducks, versus 300 U / 4,000 U / 400 U for laying poultry other than ducks), which requires compliance with the intended use per category. The instructions for use must specify storage conditions and stability to heat treatment. Handling requires personal protective equipment (respiratory, eye, skin) in the absence of sufficient organisational measures.
