Description
What it is. Multi-enzyme preparation combining an endo-1,4-β-xylanase (EC 3.2.1.8) and an endo-1,3(4)-β-glucanase (EC 3.2.1.6) produced from Trichoderma reesei, together with a polygalacturonase (EC 3.2.1.15) produced from Aspergillus fijiensis. It is available in solid or liquid form, each with its own guaranteed minimum enzymatic activities.
What it is for. This additive belongs to the digestibility enhancer functional group and is intended to support the breakdown of non-starch polysaccharides (xylans, β-glucans, pectins) found in plant-based raw materials. It is intended for weaned piglets, or piglets in a suckling-and-weaning phase, to support feed digestive utilisation during this sensitive period. Its use fits into formulations aimed at reducing intestinal viscosity linked to soluble fibres.
Points to watch. Authorisation is limited to the species and categories listed in the register and includes end dates that must be respected. Minimum enzymatic activities differ between the solid and liquid forms, requiring dosage verification upon incorporation. As with any enzymatic additive, stability may be sensitive to pelleting and storage conditions.
