Description
What it is. Preparation based on lasalocid A sodium (15 g/100 g), a polyether ionophore produced by fermentation of Streptomyces lasaliensis subsp. lasaliensis. The preparation combines the active substance with calcium lignosulfonate, ferric oxide and calcium sulfate dihydrate as carrier. It is classified as a sensory additive of functional group 2b, flavouring compounds.
What it is for. This additive is intended for poultry feeding: chickens for fattening, turkeys, pheasants, guinea fowl, quails and partridges (except laying birds thereof). For this type of substance, use is generally through incorporation into premixtures, according to the conditions set out in the manufacturer's instructions for use. It is included in formulas intended for growing or fattening animals.
Points to watch. Administration is prohibited 3 days or less before slaughter. The instructions for use of the additive and premixture must specify storage conditions and stability to heat treatment. Associated impurities (lasalocid sodium B-E) are tolerated up to 10 %.
