What it is. Organic compound (diol or alcohol) of formula C3H8O2, obtained as a viscous, slightly sweet-tasting, hygroscopic liquid, miscible with water, acetone and chloroform. The product may contain up to 0.3% dipropylene glycol.
What it is for. This type of ingredient is generally used as a humectant, solvent or carrier for other feed additives, helping to improve the homogeneity and physical stability of mixtures.
