Description
What it is. Flavouring substance obtained by chemical synthesis, with a minimum purity of 99 %, corresponding to acetaldehyde (CAS number 75-07-0, FLAVIS 05.001). It is intended to be incorporated into feed in the form of a premixture.
What it is for. Sensory additive of functional group 2b, used to flavour compound feed intended for all animal species. Its use aims to modulate the flavour of complete feed; the instructions for use of the premixture specify the storage and stability conditions to be respected.
Points to watch. The recommended maximum content of active substance is 5 mg/kg of complete feed with a moisture content of 12 %; above this level, labelling of premixtures and feed must indicate the functional group, the name and identification number of the additive, and the quantity added. Personal protective measures are required to limit risks of inhalation and skin or eye contact during handling.
